An Important Message From the AEE
As the most widely recognized professional certification in the energy management field, the Certified Energy Manager (CEM) credential offers you an ever expanding and diverse range of benefits within your profession.

For example, National Grid, a publicly-owned energy company providing electricity and natural gas services to significant portions of New England, recently announced an important new program to subsidize energy efficiency engineering studies for commercial and multi-family buildings within their service area.

Under this program, National Grid will finance 50% (up to $10,000) of the cost incurred as part of an approved energy efficiency engineering study. In order to qualify, the study must be completed by a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or a professional engineer (PE). To participate in this program, a completed application must be submitted for approval by December 31, 2009. (CLICK HERE to access the application form for the National Grid grant program.)

This is just one example of how certified energy managers realize a critical competitive edge in the energy management marketplace. If you'd like to learn more about the many ways that having your CEM credential can help you stay a cut above the competition in your field, CLICK HERE.

If you are currently a Certified Energy Manager, you can also play an important role in documenting the growing importance and use of the CEM program. For example:

* If you or your organization are using the CEM program in new or expanded ways, we'd love to hear from you. Please contact Tim Janos, CEM Chairperson at Tim@aeecenter.org and share what you've been doing.

* We invite you to explore additional ways the CEM program might be used in your company, by your energy provider, or in the state in which you reside.
